What is Bow Hunting?
Bow hunting is the use of a bow and arrow to hunt wildlife. It can be used for both big game and small game animals depending on your location, time of year, and species available. In most areas, bow season (or archery season) begins before gun season so that hunters have an opportunity to harvest deer with less competition from other hunters using firearms.
Can I Bow Hunt During Gun Season?
Yes! Many states allow bows to be used during gun season as long as you follow all state regulations regarding the type of weapon allowed in certain areas at certain times of the year. Be sure to check with your local Fish & Wildlife Department or other governing authority for specific rules about when it’s legal to use a bow during gun season in your area. Generally speaking, if you are legally able to hunt with a firearm then you should also be allowed to hunt deer with a bow during gun season provided that no special regulations make it illegal or restricted where you plan on hunting.
